Meditech Development, Inc. is a medical product incubator specializing in procedural, therapeutic, and surgical tissue manipulation technology. The company was founded by Medical and Engineering experts dedicated to a-traumatically manipulating tissue with a focus on safety and efficiency. We focused on developing, refining, and bringing to market proprietary comprehensive vacuum grasping, tissue manipulations, tamponade, and pump technology to improve procedure safety and health outcomes, worldwide.
The Meditech IP portfolio centers on vacuum devices that enhance patient safety, optimize physician effort, and reduce risk; thereby, Meditech technology is strategically positioned to succeed and grow in the medical device market.
Specifically, in the obstetrical setting, Meditech takes the technology to a new level of automation that lets the doctor concentrate on compassionate and effective patient care instead of “pumps and vacuum maintenance” during operative vacuum delivery.
The company has multiple patents in the area of integrated vacuum technologies. Meditech’s lead product candidate, is a portable regulated pressure pump utilizing: microprocessor technology, touch screen, data storage and wireless communication housed in a compact molded case. The vacuum pump is a safe and versatile proprietary device offering a surgical option to supply, replace or augment existing manual vacuum sources.
Product Development
Meditech has developed working automated vacuum pump prototypes and garnered endorsement and interest in clinical trials from high-risk obstetrical thought leaders and industry that will expedite its commercialization. Meditech has licensed several currently patented vacuum products in the past. Partial listing is available under a Non-Disclosure agreement.
Meditech has developed patented laparoscopic and open surgical graspers that use vacuum cups to grasp, retract, extract, and manipulate tissue and presented findings at prior American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopist meetings. It also holds patented tamponade technology that is currently under development. This technology will transform the market by providing a novel solution for curtailing or arresting blood flow at a trauma site. This offers a patented new approach to bringing a tourniquet to external and organ body surfaces not associated with the body extremities.
